Porter Corner, NY Ada M. Kussius of North Creek Rd. passed through the door of life into the arms of Angels on August 1, 2008. She was 79 years young. Born April 21, 1929 in Elizabethtown, NY the daughter of the late William and Delia Crowningshield Gay. During her life past activities included membership in the Eastern Star and Amerance. Ada had a passion for cooking and was an accomplished baker, baking and decorating many cakes for area parties and weddings. She was an avid bird watcher, loved the magic of the ocean, camping and collecting fine porcelain figurines. Her life centered on her devotion as a wife and mother, her greatest source of pride being her four sons. Ada was an extraordinary woman who endured years of illness but still showed us all how to live with grace, strength and perseverance. Ada was devoted wife and mother. Her greatest love was raising her four wonderful sons and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Ada was predeceased by her brother, Wendel Gay and her sister, Eva Mae Gay. Survivors include her beloved husband, Robert J. Kussius whom she married Oct. 9, 1966: her four sons, Bruce Kussius of Corinth, Robert M. Kussius (Florence) of Saratoga Springs, Douglas Kussius (Kathy) of Germantown, Daryl Kussius of Mercer, TN; her brother Robert Gay (Ev) of Willsboro, NY, daughter-in-laws Kathy Kussius (Doug) and Flo Kussius (Robert). Six grandchildren Jessica Peculis of Saratoga, Nikia Compton of Oklahoma, Jana Miller of North Umberland, Josh Kussius of Corinth, Doug Kussius of Vermont and Cassandra Kussius of Buffalo. She was also the proud great grandmother of Ethan and Jacob Compton of Oklahoma and Michael and Erica Miller of North Umberland. Relatives and friends may call from 5 to 7pm Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2008 at the William J. Burke & Sons / Bussing and Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs (584-5373). Funeral service will follow at 7:00pm at the funeral home.
