Saratoga Springs, NY - Adolph Michael Valente, 68, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 17, 2011. Born in New York, New York in 1942, he is the son of the late Adolph M. Valente and Michelina G. Pastore. He attended St. Johns University New York before completing a doctorate degree in 1965 at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. He married Judith P. Deason, his wife of 46 years, in 1965. He entered the Army in 1966 as a Dental Officer at Fort Campbell, Kentucky where he served two years during the Vietnam War as a Captain. Upon completion of his military service in 1968, he moved to Saratoga Springs, New York where he opened his dental practice. Over the course of 43 years, he ran a dental practice in both Saratoga Springs and Glens Falls and was a member of the American Dental Association. A fun loving, patient, and generous person, he was quick to make people at ease and his enthusiasm for life was a joy to share. A member of McGregor Links Country Club, he enjoyed an active lifestyle of golf and social activities. He was currently a member of the Saratoga-Wilton Lodge of the Elks and bowling team. A lover of the arts, he was a past president of the Saratoga County Arts Council and a founding president of the Saratoga Musical Society Pop Orchestra. He also enjoyed travelling, sailing, painting, dancing and attending the horse races at Saratoga Race Track. Survivors include his wife Judy; one sister Lola Peck; two children Adam Valente and Angela Dimke and their spouses and his granddaughters Lauren and Gianna Dimke. Funeral services will be conducted 10am Friday, July 22, 2011 at the funeral home. Burial with military honor will follow at 12noon at the Gerald B.H.
