Saratoga Springs, NY - Husband and father, Albert Ernest Caruso, a longtime resident of Saratoga Springs, passed away on April 18, 2022, after an extended illness. On his recently celebrated 82nd birthday, Al devoured a slice of his favorite dessert, Dutch apple pie, in the company of his loving wife and daughter.

Al was born on April 16, 1940 to Alphonse and Bertha (Bourdeau) Caruso in Troy, NY. He attended Mechanicville High School where he played on the football team and sang in the choir. Following graduation, Al joined the United States Army. He proudly served his country as a member of the military police while stationed in both Texas and Korea.

Al spent most of his working years in the construction business, but his true passion was cooking. He was happiest "rattling pots and pans" in his kitchen with the Yankees or NY Giants playing on the TV over his shoulder, while creating and then serving expertly-crafted meals to family and friends. Al loved history, TV sitcoms, cats, his recliner, a good cocktail and sports, but above all he loved his family.

Al is survived by many people who love him including his wife of 45 years, Elizabeth S. Caruso; his daughter, Timoney (Bill) Montgomery; his stepchildren Loni (Thomas) Dreyer, Keith (Sally) Manz, and Robert (Mary Grace) Manz; his grandchildren Ellington, Bailey, Eden, Quinn, Kevin, Bryan, Zachary, and Kristin; his great-granddaughters and many cousins and nephews. Albert was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved sister, Marianne, and his nephew and godson, Dominick.

A private family gathering of remembrance will be held at a future date.
