Saratoga Springs, NY Albert J. Helenek died Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2008 at Wesley Health Care Center surrounded by his loving family. He was 88. Born June 23, 1920 in Elmhurst, Queens, NY he was the son of the late John and Anna Jansky Helenek. Albert was a supervisor in the machine shop at ESPEY Manufacturing. He also was head custodian at Greenfield Elementary School for many years. Albert loved woodworking and camping in his RV at Lake George Park. His greatest joy in life was his family. He was a member of St. Clements Church. In addition to his parents, Albert was predeceased by his loving wife of 53 years, Hulda M. (Bleil) Helenek and two brothers, Edward and Joseph Helenek. Survivors include his two sons, Richard (Deanne) Helenek and Robert (Marilyn) Helenek of Wilton; two grandchildren, Richard M. (Jennifer) Helenek of Corinth and Steven (Nancy) Helenek of Northumberland; five great-grandchildren, Richie, Allie, Katie, Jacob and Jenna May Helenek; one sister, Eleanor Sokota of Titusville, FL; a brother-in-law, Lewis Bleil of Saratoga Springs; several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews and cousins The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of the 2nd Floor, Hawthorn Building at Wesley Health Care Center for all their loving kindness and care of their father. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am at St. Clements Church, 231 Lake Ave. by the Rev. Paul J. Borowski, C.Ss.R., pastor.
