Obituary

Saratoga Springs, NY – Albert Macica "Al" passed away on June 14th, he was 84 years old. Albert was the son of the late Frank and Mary (Chudacek) Macica.

Al grew up in Saratoga Springs, NY where he joined the United States Navy. In his early days Al began his career as an apprentice carpenter with L A Swyer Company. Most recently Al was a project manager with BBL Construction Services.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, sailing, skiing, spending time at his camp in the Adirondacks and working on and riding in his vintage cars. He also loved watching stock car racing at the Albany/Saratoga and Fonda speedways where he felt part of the BBL racing team.

In addition to his parents Al is predeceased by his son Kenneth Macica; as well as his nine other siblings; brothers, Robert and Edward; sisters, Ceil (Stephen) Hubinsky, Fran (Jack Bena), Betty (Bob Bena), Veronica (Joseph Reulet), Mary (George Jurcsak), Victoria (Clem Domaszewicz), and Margie (Jerry Suire).

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Linda (Dunson) Macica; and son Christopher Macica (Maribeth) and daughter Sandra (Norman Bovee) Macica, granddaughters Brooke and Cara and many, many, wonderful nephews and nieces and his large extended family of cousins.

The family would also like to extend a special thank you to the caring staff at Community Hospice as well as Saratoga Hospital.

Calling hours will be on Sunday, June 18, 2023 from 2-4pm at William J. Burke & Sons Funeral Home, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY (518-584-5373). A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am Monday, June 19, 2023 at St. Clements Church, 231 Lake Ave. Saratoga Springs. Burial with military honors will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery, West Avenue.

Donations may be made to Community Hospice of Saratoga, 179 Lawrence Street, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866 or a charity of choice.

Arrangements are under the direction of the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff, Inc. Funeral Homes of 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs.
