IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Albert Christopher
Rossi
December 8, 1955 – January 28, 2022
Saratoga Springs, NY - Albert Christopher Rossi, known as "Dotter" to his many friends, who was loved and cherished passed away January 28, 2022.
Born December 8, 1955 and raised in Saratoga, Chris worked as a hot walker for trainer R.L. Dotter, from whom he gained his nickname and a lifetime love for racing. Chris graduated from Saratoga High School in 1973 and Syracuse University in 1977 with a degree in finance. He loved his college alma mater, but not as much as his beloved Saratoga. He was a restaurateur and accomplished chef during his life. In his early years, he managed the Canterbury Restaurant, and later ran the kitchen at the Horseshoe Inn-where his breakfasts were known city-wide. If you needed to find Dotter, there was a good chance he was there with his buddies, handicapping the day's races, watching sports, and shooting the breeze-if you stopped by, he was sure to give you one of his (sometimes) semi-reliable tips. Later in life, he enjoyed many winters in Hawaii with his best friend and only brother, Peter, where he made many immediate and lasting friends. Chris' wealth was measured by the amount of friends he had, a trait inherited from his father, the late Albert J. Rossi.
Although never married, Chris had a few loves of his life, ones he liked to reminisce on fondly. Instead, he took his role as "Uncle Chris" as importantly as being a father. His nieces and nephews from his beloved sister Gayle and his brother Peter were like his children, and he taught them to love Saratoga, Syracuse, and great food as much as he did. Uncle Chris was there for every Christmas and holiday ensuring that the Rossi family traditions were always in place.
Chris was a Saratogian through-and-through, and his friends and family will greatly mourn his loss.
Son of the late Albert J. and Catherine (Winter) Rossi; Chris is survived by his brother Dr. Peter W. Rossi (Misa), sister Gayle Rossi Teti (Robert), and six nieces and nephews, Matthew (Cree), Lyda, Eva, and Anton Rossi, Ian and Claudia Teti.
