Saratoga Springs, NY Alfred Daley Raymond Brown of Locust Grove Rd., most recently a resident of Wesley Nursing Home, died Monday, January 19, 2009 at Saratoga Hospital, one day before his 90th birthday. He was 89. Born January 20, 1919 in Saratoga Springs, he was the son of the late Earl Stanley and Edith Daley Brown. A Navy veteran of World War II, Alfred was a graduate of Purdue University School of Electronics. Alfred worked for General Electric for 38 years, retiring in 1981. He worked for the Flight Test Division of GE and travelled the world working for NASA on the Atlas Missile, Mercury and Gemini Space programs. Alfred co-owned and operated the B&G Car Wash in Saratoga Springs from 1964 to 1969 and together with his wife co-owned and operated the Saratoga Giant Laundromat on Broadway from 1970 to 1988. Alfred loved building and inventing electronic gadgets for his home, golfing, traveling, fishing, skiing and spending time with his family. He was always admired for his good work ethics and was a good provider to his family. Alfred attended the United Methodist Church with his wife. In addition to his parents, Alfred is predeceased by a daughter, Pamela J. Brown of Tucson AZ; two cousins, Audrey Bussing Cunniff and Schuyler Bussing and an uncle, Raymond B. Brown all of Saratoga Springs. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Carolyn Groff Brown; two sons, Colin G. Brown (Carol) and Jeffrey E. Brown both of Saratoga Springs; one grandson, Adam Brown of South Glens Falls; one brother, E. Stanley Brown (Gladys) of Center Ossipee, NH; three cousins, Harold Daley (Janet) of Melbourne Beach, FL, Kenneth Daley of Rensselaer, NY and Jean Daley Marino (Newie) of Carson City, NV and several nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours and a private graveside service will be held in the spring at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of the William J.
