Gansevoort, NY – Allen Huston Joyner passed away on Monday, June 5, 2017 at Saratoga Hospital.

Born on January 1, 1947 in Astoria, Queens, NY, he was the son of the late Huston Junior and Doris (Nadel) Joyner. Allen graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Queens College. He served in the United States Navy from 1969 to 1970 and was proud to be a Vietnam veteran. Allen worked for the NYS Dept. of Taxation & Finance until his retirement. An avid Mets fan, he also loved music, thoroughbred horse racing, cars (especially Corvettes), animals of all kinds (especially cats) and had a devotion to God and his country. Allen's greatest joy was his loving wife of 45 years, "Joanie", his children and grandchildren as well as his many dear friends.

In addition to his parents, Allen was predeceased by his father-in-law Arthur DeSimone.

Survivors include his loving wife Joan (DeSimone); his children Allison (James) Potocki and Justin Joyner; grandchildren Alexander, Henry and Arthur Potocki; sister Judyann Joyner; mother-in-law Maria DeSimone; sisters-in-law Annette (Ralph) Ferretti, Loretta DeSimone; nephew Eric Joyner and nieces Lisa Appelt and Laura Ferretti.

Relatives and friends may call from 4 to 7pm Thursday, June 8, 2017 at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs (584-5373).

A funeral service will be held at 11am Friday, June 9 at the funeral home. Burial with military honor will follow at 12:30pm at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd., Schuylerville.
