Wilton, NY - Aloysius Joseph Rienzo, 80, formerly of Commack, NY, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2011. For fifty-four years, Aloysius was the devoted and loving husband of the late Margaret M. Rienzo. He is survived by his eight children, Annemarie and Richard Adams, Christopher and Laurie Rienzo, Bernadette and Alfred Nastasi, Mary Regina and Charles Bebber, Aloysius and Annette Rienzo, Thomas and Moira Rienzo, Elizabeth and Shane Onufrock and Karen and Ron Vogel; is the beloved Poppy to 22 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and is also survived by two sisters, Bernadette Rienzo and Liz Noll and four brothers, John, Ignatius, Gregory, and Frank Rienzo. Aloysius served his country as a 1st Lt. in the Army during the Korean Conflict. Upon his honorable discharge from the Army, Aloysius pursued a career in education, teaching mathematics at Hicksville High School. While in Commack, Aloysius and Margaret were daily communicants at Christ the King Church, and continued their devotion to their Catholic faith after relocating to the Capital Region. Relatives and friends may call from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm Sunday, Jan. 9, 2011 at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs (584-5373). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am Monday, Jan. 10, 2011 at St. Clement's Church, 231 Lake Ave. by the Rev. Paul J. Borowski, C.Ss.R. Burial with military honors will be at the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Duell Rd., Schuylerville.
