Bolton Landing, NY - Andreas (Andy) Farstad of Bolton Landing, died on the evening of December 25, 2011. He was 85. Born on November 18, 1928 in Schenectady, NY, he was the son of the late Andreas M. Farstad and Evelyn (Snyder) Farstad and was a graduate from Mont Pleasant High School in Schenectady. He served in the US Navy from 1944 to 1946 aboard the U.S.S. New Orleans in the Pacific Theater and was employed by the New York Telephone Company for 35 years, ending his career as a Plant Supervisor in Albany. He retired in 1982. Andy was a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Telephone Pioneers of America. A past president of the Uncas sports booster club at Shenendehowa and the South Beach Association of Lake George, he was a volunteer member of the Guilderland Fire Department and the Olive Bridge Fire Department while residing in those areas. He loved all sports, woodworking and helping others with different projects. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his wife, E. Mary Irish Farstad and two brothers, Robert H. Farstad and Donald C. Farstad. Survivors include his sons; Thomas of Bolton Landing, NY, Richard and his wife Debbie of Greer SC, William and his wife Mary of Ballston Lake, NY; his daughter, Karen Campbell and her husband Thomas of Londonderry, NH; nine grandchildren; Jocelyn, Kendra, Erik, Daniel, Erin, Carrie, Rachel, Andrea and Brian and seven great grandchildren.
