Saratoga Springs, NY - Andrew Joseph DeGregorio, of West Circular Street, passed away suddenly with his family by his side, on Wednesday, May 26, 2010. He was 86. Predeceased by his nine siblings, he joins his beloved granddaughter, Madison Sweetie Pie, who passed away at the age of 7 in 2006. Born on March 7, 1924 in Saratoga Springs, he was the son of the late Francisco and Petronella (Nilo) DeGregorio and was a lifelong city resident. A US Navy veteran of World War Two, he served in the Seabees in Adak, Alaska, enjoyed roller skating, playing the ponies and having a few pops with his family. He built his family home with his father and resided there with his children and wife, and was a loving and proud husband, dad and grandfather. Andy spent many years as a loyal member and Trustee of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Saratoga Aerie 2586, the American Legion Adirondack Post 70 and was a lifetime member of the Dominick Smaldone Post 35 Italian American War Veterans (ITAM). He was a member of the Local Engineers Union and the Church of St. Peter. Just shy of their 64th wedding anniversary, he is survived by his wife, Florence (Cammuso) DeGregorio; his children, Andrew Jr. (Terri), Leta Betor (John), Frank Charles, and Patrick (Tina); his grandchildren, Ronnie Betor, Jillian DeGregorio, and Colin Betor and many nieces, nephews and cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30am Saturday in the Church of St. Peter, 241 Broadway., by the Rev. Neil Draves-Arpaia.
