Saratoga Springs, NY - Andrew Charles Ragan, 45, passed away peacefully May 20, 2012 after a 6 year courageous battle with ALS/Lou Gehrig Disease. His wife of 16 years, Kelly, favorite sisters, lifelong friends and loving hospice nurse were by his side. Andrew was born November 29, 1966 in Schenectady, NY. He grew up in Guilford, CT and graduated from Guilford High School in 1985. Andrew graduated from Keene State College in 1989 with a BS in Business. Andrew met the love of his life Kelly Conboy in his senior year. He was a proud member of the Phi Mu Delta fraternity. Andrew had an amazing business sense...never accepting the status quo. This was evident in his management and global roles with Commercial Plastics, GE Plastics, and Victrex. Andrew was a devoted and loving husband to his college sweetheart and wife Kelly Conboy Ragan. His most cherished role was that of father to his young children Briggs Kingsley and Quinn Willing Ragan. Andrew was the beloved son of James T. Ragan and the late Susan H. Ragan. He is also predeceased by his father-in-law, Robert Conboy. Survivors also include his siblings, James T. Ragan (Kim), Maria Decker (Peter) and Carey Guerra (Paul); mother-in-law, Gerry Conboy; brothers-in-law, Sean Conboy and Kevin Conboy (Megan). Andrew was loved by many nieces and nephews, Ragan, Torren, Ben, Michael, Kiernan, Abby, Daniel, Jacob, Lizzy, Logan, and Caleigh. Our family is forever grateful to the dedicated staff of the Lewis Golub ALS center and Community Hospice of Saratoga. The love and guidance allowed us to maintain "normalcy" during our ALS battle. His journey was constantly surrounded with "love and laughter" by an amazing and beautiful network of friends and family. ALS was not able to take his integrity, wit, smile, love, and hope. Andrew will be remembered for his warmth, generosity and spirit in the face of adversity. His advocacy for ALS will live on in his loved ones. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10am Friday, May 25, 2012 at the Church of St. Peter, 241 Broadway, Saratoga Springs.
