IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Angela Marie
Buckley
November 12, 1943 – January 27, 2025
Saratoga Springs, NY - Angela Marie Buckley (née Felice) died on January 27, 2025 in Saratoga Springs, NY after a long battle with COPD. In case you're wondering, yes, it was probably because she smoked (but it was the 50s and she was always very thin, so it's really about how you look at it). A true New Yorker at heart, Angela was born in Yonkers on November 12, 1943 to Theresa Felice (née Ragone), the owner of a bead business, and Carl Felice, a dry cleaner.
It was in her hometown of Yonkers that she met Daniel Buckley, the man who would be her husband of over 50 years. She could clearly remember the moment she laid eyes on him; she turned to her friend and said, "I'm going to marry that one right there." Daniel remembered no such moment, which is merely a testament to Angela's skill at convincing others that her ideas were really theirs all along.
Angela and Daniel moved to Putnam in 1962, where they bought a house and filled it with four children, several dogs, and the occasional squirrel coaxed in by Daniel — and shooed out by Angela. She was exceptionally creative, knitting clothes for her children and grandchildren, and had an affinity for the arts, with a particular fondness for the show Outlander and its main character, Jamie, who reminded her of her late husband.
Beyond being a mother and grandmother, Angela was also a certified esthetician. Always a beauty herself, Angela endeavored to help all her customers feel their prettiest. She was an uncommonly accepting woman, painting anyone's nails — man, woman, or somewhere in between — and making them all look lovely. Later in life, she would use her skills as a beautician to doll up her three granddaughters, who left her house with painted nails, neat hair, and tinted eyelashes.
Of Angela's many wonderful qualities, one that stands out is her selflessness. She cared for her husband through multiple cancer treatments, loved her little dog Willow, and never missed a Grandparents' Day. Angela was predeceased by her parents, Theresa and Carl; her older brother, Joseph; and her husband, Daniel. She leaves behind four children, Sean, Jennifer, Kathleen, and Daniel; seven grandchildren, Avram, Hannah, Erin, Emily, Matthew, Ryan, and Cooper; and one great-granddaughter, Lily.
A memorial service for Angela and her husband Daniel will be held on Monday, March 10 at 9:30 AM at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Duell Road, Schuylerville, NY.
