Saratoga Springs, NY - Angeline M. Thobae, 88, passed away at Saratoga Hospital on January 4, 2025, after a lengthy and courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. Angie was born on July 19, 1936 in Saratoga Springs. She was the daughter of the late William Smith and Angeline Girard Smith.

Angie was predeceased by her siblings, Mary Piacentini, Joan Polland, Frank Pallor, Victoria McHugh, Frances Macier, Donald Smith and Michael Smith.

Angie graduated from Saratoga Springs High School and went to work for AT&T as a telephone switchboard operator. She had many jobs in her lifetime including working at the Parish House for St. Clements Church. Her greatest love was taking care of her family and especially enjoyed many family holiday gatherings. Angie had a natural artistic talent which she demonstrated in decorating her homes, her paintings and working with ceramics. She enjoyed bowling her entire life and traveling to tournaments in Syracuse, Las Vegas and Reno, Nevada. She was also active in Saratoga American Little League during the years her sons played Little League baseball.

Angie is survived by her husband, of 56 years, William Thobae; her sons, David Babcock, Jeffery (Jeannie D'Agostino) Babcock, Christopher Thobae and William (Carey Barber) Thobae; her grandchildren, Zachary, Alex, Billy and Bianca as well as many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to call from 2:00PM – 4:00PM on Monday, January 13, 2025, at the William J. Burke & Sons/ Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 N. Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY (518-584-5373). A funeral home service will follow at 4:00PM.

A graveside service will be held at 12:00PM on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd, Schuylerville NY.

In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to the Alzheimer's Association (alz.org) .
