IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ann Elizabeth
Kelly Cooley
July 10, 1944 – January 7, 2026
Ann Elizabeth Kelly Cooley, 81, of Saratoga Springs, New York, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2026, alongside family.
Ann was born on July 10, 1944 in Flushing, NY. She was daughter of James and Rachel Kelly, growing up in Bayside, NY. Ann moved upstate to earn her Bachelor's Degree from the State University of New York at Oswego, and then to start her teaching career. She ultimately settled in Saratoga Springs, where she spent the rest of her life.
Ann received her Master of Science from Queens College, and taught for 34 years at Stevens Elementary School, then later supervised student teachers through SUNY Plattsburgh. Deeply involved in many pursuits, Ann proudly served as an Officer with the speed skating Saratoga Winter Club, Saratoga Springs Figure Skating Club, and the Northern New York Skating Association. Through church, she volunteered in the Saint Clement's Outreach, as a Saint Clement's Eucharistic minister, an Arimathea minister coordinating and assisting with funerals, and she was a member of The Ladies of Charity.
Ann showed her love to her family through constant care, celebration, and unwavering presence. A friend of Ann's was a friend for life, and she cherished making new friends, everywhere she went. She enjoyed traveling: internationally in her 20's and 30's, and then in recent years, focused on more nautical locations. She frequently traveled to see her children and grandchildren in Michigan and Oregon, and she especially enjoyed soaking up the coastal atmosphere in southern Maine and Nantucket. There was nothing like the freedom of a bike ride near the water for Ann.
Her strength and resilience were salient, and her devotion to her callings as an educator and through her church were paramount. Ann lived her faith through service, compassion, and a quiet confidence in life's greater purpose. Ann is predeceased by her husband Robert "Bob" Cooley. Ann is survived by her loving family and many wonderful friends: daughter Erin Cooley, son James Cooley (Erin Eatough Cooley), and grandchildren: Liam Campaigniac, Travis Campaigniac, Calvin Cooley, and Harper Cooley.
