Saratoga Springs, NY – Anthony (Tony) Joseph Sansiveri, 85, passed away on Friday, Dec. 2, 2016 at Wesley Health Care Center.
Born on Dec. 20, 1930 in Saratoga Springs, Tony was the son of the late Frank and Jenny (Scuderi) Sansiveri. He served in the Navy during the Korean War on board the USS Wisconsin. After his service to his country, Tony was a barber for 50 years, first as the owner of Five Points Barber Shop where he cut hair alongside his eldest son Frank for many years, then selling the business and working at Larry's until retiring. Tony and his wife Rose loved to travel. They have been all over the world, especially Italy, where they had family and have been to Italy five times. He will be dearly missed by all who loved him.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Mary Brundage, Peggy Smith and brother, Jerry Sansiveri.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Rose (DeFillippo) Sansiveri; sons Frank (Dian) and Anthony, Jr. (Luanne); grandchildren Jamie Ramsdill (Brett Lindert), Kimberly Kozaczka and Marissa Sansiveri; great-grandchildren Nathaniel and Landon Kozaczka and Hazel Rose Lindert; sisters Bernadine (Clement) Clark, Carmel Ann (Raymond) Laiviere as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call from 9 to 10am on Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2016 at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs (584-5373). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am at the historic Church of St. Peter, 231 Broadway and burial with military honors will follow at 12noon at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
