IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Anthony Wicks
Turner
May 9, 1932 – March 20, 2025
Saratoga Springs, NY - Anthony Wicks Turner, affectionately known as Tony, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2025, at the age of 92, at the Wesley Community Health Care Center in Saratoga Springs, NY. Born on May 9, 1932, in Pittsburgh, PA, Tony lived a life full of love and laughter.
Tony made it clear his most cherished roles were those of a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He first married Catherine Connors in 1957, and together they had two daughters, Lauren and Sharon. In 1974, Tony and Cathy divorced. Tony married his second wife, Carol Clifton Cross, in 1985. They shared a passion for travel and for the New York Giants, attending countless games as loyal season ticket holders.
Professionally, Tony worked as an advertising copywriter at General Electric in Schenectady, where he worked for about 30 years. During his years in Schenectady, Tony was an active member of The Unitarian Church, where he formed close friendships and contributed to the community.
Summer vacations were spent at the family home in Mantoloking, NJ, where the ocean waves and beautiful beach brought joy, relaxation, and a whole lot of fun to Tony, his loved ones and the many family friends who visited over the years.
Tony is survived by his daughters, Lauren Parlin (Ken) and Sharon Turner (Mark Paul), his stepdaughter Colleen Benton (Mike), and stepson Robert Cross (Betsy). He was the proud grandfather of eight grandchildren: Turner Parlin (wife Molly), Elizabeth Parlin, Anna Stojanovic (husband Marko), Isabel Penella (husband Johnny), Matilda Paul, Phoebe Paul, Daniel Benton, Emily Benton, and two great granddaughters, Alice and Hazel Parlin. Tony always expressed immense pride in his sons-in-law, Kenneth Parlin, Mark Paul, and Michael Benton, whom he considered the best a guy could ask for.
Preceded in death by his parents, Madeleine and James Jewett Turner Jr., his brothers, James Jewett Turner III and Michael Griswold Turner, and his wife Carol, Tony leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter. His intelligent conversation, sharp wit, humorous frustration with inanimate technology that didn't work the way he thought it should, and deep love for his family will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
At Tony's request services will be private.
