Gansevoort, NY - Antoinette M. Merlino of Gansevoort, NY (formerly of Mineola, NY) passed away quietly at home on December 11, 2008. Antoinette was born on May 29, 1923 in Brooklyn, NY. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who cherished her family. Her volunteer work, for many years on the Maternity Floor of Nassau Hospital in Mineola, was a very important part of her life. She will be remembered for her constant thoughtfulness and generosity. She always gave freely of herself and asked for nothing in return. Antoinette is predeceased by her loving husband, Nicholas. Survivors include her devoted family, daughter Ann Marie Marks and her husband Richard, their children Christine, Patricia, Suzanne Pollard and her husband Stan; her sons, Philip, Anthony, Richard and his wife Tina, and their son Matthew. Relatives and friends may call from 2 to 5pm on Sunday (Dec. 14, 2008) at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs (584-5373). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Corpus Christi Church in Mineola, NY on Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2008 at 10:45am. Interment will follow at Holy Rood Cemetery in Westbury, NY.
