Gansevoort, NY - Audrey Margret Tschan, age 92, of Balsam Lane, went peacefully into the arms of our Lord, on Tuesday, June 19, 2012. Audrey was born in Bushwick, Brooklyn, NY, on May 10, 1920. She was an only child and loving daughter of the late George and Grace Kaul. Audrey developed many childhood diseases at the age of four. She could not walk for about three years and had to be pushed around in a carriage. Her doctor was able to get her to stand and suggested to her grandmother to have her take up dancing and, believe it or not, it worked. She went as far as becoming a dance teacher. She taught tap and toe dancing until she was 16. Audrey lived with her parents, grandmother, aunt and uncle. She had five uncles, and three aunts in all. Audrey was a graduate of Bushwick High, Brooklyn, in 1938. She held several jobs, in the insurance industry, legal secretary, and secretary at Burrs Lane Jr. High in Dix Hills, NY. Audrey was commissioned as a Stephen minister in 1988 at St. Luke Lutheran Church, in Dix Hills. She also taught Sunday school for fifty years. She continued Stephen Ministry at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Saratoga Springs. On August 18, 1946 she was happily married to Richard Tschan, and their marriage lasted for 66 years. Audrey is survived by her son, Chris and daughter, April; three grandchildren, David, Jason, and Richard and daughter-in-law, Sheena. Audrey was a loving mother, and grandmother. There will be no public calling hours. Graveside services will be 2pm Friday, June 29, 2012 at the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Duell Rd., Schuylerville. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that a memorial gift be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 149 Lake Ave., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866 or the Alzheimer's Disease Research, 22512 Gateway Center Drive, P.O.
