Queensbury, NY - Barbara Ann Reese, 57, of Queensbury, NY, passed away Thursday (Dec. 4, 2008) at the Glens Falls Hospital. Born in Amsterdam, NY on Jan. 4, 1951, her parents are Margaret A. (Black) Reese and the late Arnold A. Reese of Hagaman, NY. Barbara lived in Hagaman through high school graduation. She resided in Cortland, NY from 1977 to 2003 when she moved to Queensbury. Ms. Reese graduated from Perth Central High School, Fulton Montgomery Community College and SUNY Oneonta with a bachelors degree in Sociology. She was employed by the Montgomery County Department of Social Services. She was then employed by Green Thumb Inc., a non-profit employment & training program that assists senior citizens. There she served as Executive Director for New York State with offices in Cortland, NY. While living in Queensbury she was employed by Weight Watchers of the Adirondacks as a leader and staff developer. While growing up in Hagaman, Barbara attended the Hagaman United Methodist Church, where she was confirmed as a child. She attended Grace Episcopal Church while she resided in Cortland. Barbara is survived by her mother, Margaret A. Reese of Saratoga Springs; her son, Evan H. Reese of Queensbury; her brother, John R. Reese of Saratoga Springs and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service for Barbara will be held at 11am Thursday (Dec. 18, 2008) at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs. Her remains will be buried in the Hagaman Mills Cemetery in Hagaman at a later time. Memorial contributions can be made in lieu of flowers to Oncology Education & Support at the Glens Falls Hospital C.R. Wood Cancer Center, Glens Falls, NY.
