Saratoga Springs, NY - Barney C. Villa, Jr., 72, passed away Friday evening, (July 28, 2017) at his residence, surrounded by his family.

Born on September 21, 1944 in Saratoga Springs, he was the son of the late Barney C. and Muriel (Gravelle) Villa, Sr.  Since 1971, Barney operated pizza restaurants, a bar and kitchens in the area including Barney's Place, 2 Barney's and Barney's Townhouse. Apart from his famous recipes and warm hospitality, Barney will be forever remembered for his fun-loving personality, his strong work ethic and his kind heart and dedication to his family and friends.

Survivors include his loving wife of 33 years, Clare (Waring) Villa of Saratoga Springs; son Barney Villa of Boulder, CO; daughter Christina Villa-Gac and her husband Matthew of Saratoga Springs; grandson Colton Gac also of Saratoga Springs; sisters Linda Lavelle of Ballston Spa and Lucinda Callaway of CA; a brother Nick Villa and his wife Denise of CA; several in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call from 3 to 6pm Sunday (August 6, 2017) at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway (584-5373).

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am Monday (Aug. 7) in St. Clements Church, 231 Lake Ave., by the Rev. Robert R. Harrison, C.Ss.R. Private burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to Community Hospice of Saratoga, 179 Lawrence St., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.
