Lake Placid, FL- Beatrice K. Sylvia 78, peacefully passed away at the Good Shepherd Hospice in Sebring, FL, on April 18, 2023, after a short battle with liver failure.

Born July 7,1944 in Troy, NY, the daughter of the late Thomas L. Sr. and Beatrice (Kilburn) Costanzo, residing in Waterford, NY.

Beatrice, known by all her family and friends as Trixie, was a graduate of Shenendehowa High School in 1962 and was working as a nurse's aide at Cohoes memorial until she went on to pursue a nursing career. Trixie attended Mary McClellan Hospital school of practical nursing in Cambridge and graduated on September 14th, 1963, then passed her state board exam in November of the same year.

She sustained a lifelong career in nursing and worked for a number of facilities over the years including Patient Care of Northeastern, NY, out of Amsterdam, NY, where she worked as an in-home nurse then shortly after became the office manager of that branch and later St. John Newmen Residence in Saratoga Springs, NY.

Trixie raised her 3 children on dairy farms while taking a break from nursing but she never entirely left her career. In 1995, Trixie married her husband, Joe Sylvia and shortly after they packed up and moved to the sunny state of Florida where she continued her career in nursing.

Trixie worked for a few different nursing facilities in Florida and only left her career in February of 2021, at the urging of her children, where she had been working at "The Palms of Sebring Florida: Assisted Living Center". She retired with her husband and enjoyed her favorite pastimes, watching horror flicks and bragging about her children and grandchildren accomplishments.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph Sylvia, of Lake Placid, Florida; three Children, Tod (Tina Cantwell) Petteys of Lake Placid, Florida, Kathleen (David) Wardell, of Greenfield Center, NY, and Aaron (Lori) Petteys, of Corinth, NY; grandchildren AJ, Tiffany, Eric, Zachary, Katlyn, Kyle, Ashlee and Mikey; several great grandchildren; as well as her step children, grandchildren, a nephew and niece.

A Burial will take place at 12:00pm at the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd, Schuylerville, NY 12871 following the visitation.
