Saratoga Springs, NY - Bessie A. Stevens of West Circular Street, passed away Monday, April 4, 2011 at the Wesley Health Care Center, Lawrence St. She was 86. Born on Oct. 15, 1924 in Saratoga Springs, she was the daughter of the late George H. and Bessie (Farrington) Stevens, was a lifelong area resident and a graduate of Saratoga Springs High School. She was employed with the General Electric Company in Schenectady, NY for 40 years and was a member of the Church of Saint Peter. In her free time she loved going to the race track and working in her flower garden, enjoyed her family and spending time with her nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by three brothers, Jack, George and James Stevens; three sisters, Eleanor Davidson, Marjorie Patterson and Dorothy Stevens and one niece, Barbara Eggleston. Survivors include her brother, Thomas A. Stevens and his wife Eleanor of Gansevoort and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am Monday in the Church of St. Peter, 241 Broadway by the Very Rev. Dominic S. Ingemie, pastor.
