IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Bradley W.
Babcock
March 17, 1947 – October 17, 2024
Saratoga Springs, NY – Bradley W. Babcock, 77, left us peacefully on October 17, 2024 surrounded by family and friends at the Capstone Nursing Facility.
A beloved brother and uncle, Brad was born March 17, 1947 to the late Harold and Lelia (Beach) Babcock.
Brad attended school at St. Peter's Academy and Adirondack Community College, and was a graduate of the Royal Barber Academy. Brad completed courses in technical math and blueprint reading at Hudson Falls and was a Union Mason. He was employed at Espey Manufacturing. In later years, he was employed at the Saratoga Springs Public Safety Department and the Department of Public Works.
He was a proud uncle to his two nephews, Nicholas and Patrick Kearney, and a favorite cousin to Ann Podesva.
His passion for motorcycles and cars continued throughout his life starting with a Motobecane moped from Montgomery-Wards and progressing to a series of Harley Davidson motorcycles. He owned far too many automobiles to list and was passionate about each one.
Memories of fishing at the "Oval", flying model airplanes with his cousins and casual motorcycle adventures with his favorite friends and trying to snowboard unsuccessfully are fondly remembered.
A lifelong friend with Anthony "Skip" Scirocco he was a member of the original Skippy and the Pistons, playing keyboard and bass guitar.
He established many friendships especially the one with Long Island transplant Carl Polerstock who he drew into his outrageous adventures and who remained a loyal friend throughout his lifetime.
He stubbornly refused to embrace visual and social media preferring the old methods of communicating.
The family would like to express a special thanks to the Capstone Rehabilitation Center for their compassion and care they provided for Brad.
Brad is survived by his sister Montra (Babcock) Kearney; brother-in-law Patrick Kearney; nephew Nicholas (Lisa) Kearney; and special cousin Ann Podesva.
Along with his parents, he is predeceased by his nephew Patrick James Kearney, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Donations may be made in Brad's memory to the Saratoga Animal Shelter (6010 County Farm Road Ballston Spa NY, 12020).
