Brady “Chef” Duhame, 55, of Saratoga Springs, New York, affectionately known as “Buddha,” passed away on September 24, 2026, after surviving six years with cancer, with close friends, family, and his beloved dog Mabel by his side.

Brady was a New Year’s baby of 1971, born to Linda and Rick Duhame at Saratoga Springs Hospital. He was raised on Nelson Avenue, the oldest of three children, by his loving mother, Linda. Brady graduated from Saratoga Springs High School in 1990, where he developed his passion for cooking through the BOCES culinary arts program. He went on to graduate from the prestigious Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York, in 1992.

Brady lived a chef’s dream, spending more than twelve years working in and leading some of Manhattan’s most respected kitchens. His talents took him throughout New England and to Florence, Italy, before bringing him home to his beloved Saratoga Springs, where he had always intended to return. A true artist, he gave everything to his craft, finding its deepest purpose in bringing joy to others. Every plate was an expression of who he was and a way to share himself with the world.

He is survived by his sister Meghan Bowdish of Corinth, New York; his brother Sean Duhame and his wife, Meghan, of Bolton, Massachusetts; his sister Rebecca Hawley of Fort Mill, South Carolina; his sister Jordan Duhame of Painesville, Ohio; his brother Seth Duhame and his wife, Brittany, of Venice, California; his nephews Liam, Connor, and Niall Duhame of Bolton, Massachusetts; his aunt Elaine Rivette of Glen Lake, New York; and his uncle Ron “Doc” Duhame of Ojai, California.

Too many to list, Brady also leaves behind a “family” beyond blood relations, who were a constant source of support and love in his life.

Brady was loved and respected by so many. An inspiration and mentor, he made a lasting mark on the restaurant community and on the lives of those who knew him. He will be remembered for his passion and talent in the kitchen, his charisma, his sense of humor, and the warmth he so freely shared. Brady will be terribly missed, but the love he gave and the lives he touched will carry his memory forward. May he rest in peace, knowing how deeply he was loved.

Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Home, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866 (518-584-5373). A Funeral Service will begin at 11:30am followed by burial in the family plot at St. Peter’s Cemetery, 150 West Avenue.
