Saratoga Springs - Bruce M. Briggs passed away on December 18, 2020 after a long courageous battle with Parkinson's disease. He was born in Saratoga Springs on September 18, 1949 to the late Robert E. Briggs and Laneta (Nete) Winney Briggs.

Bruce enlisted in the United States Marine Corps at age 17 and did 3 tours in Vietnam with an artillery unit and as a MP. While in "DA NANG" he spent in country R&R with his brother Bob.

After his military service, Bruce joined the Saratoga Springs Police Dept. where he later retired on disability due to injuries sustained in the 1976 Broadway Church Fire. He later drove bus/limo for Upstate Tours and also worked as a mixologist including stints in the Sunshine State. He was a 50+ year member of Gurtler Bros VFW Post 420 and Saratoga/Wilton ELKS Lodge 161.

In addition to his parents, Bruce was predeceased by his longtime companion Kendall Lloyd; Uncles Homer Winney, James Briggs, and Joseph Briggs.

Bruce is survived by his brother Bob, son Bryan, daughters Kristy Briggs and Cassandra Reed (Husband Thomas Reed) and also several grandchildren; Grace Bovat (Briggs); Thomas, JR, Logan, Oliver, and Bianca Reed.

Graveside services and a Celebration of Life will be held in spring 2021.
