IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Burton E.
Farbstein
May 24, 1947 – December 4, 2024
Saratoga Springs, NY - Burton E. Farbstein, 77, passed away on December 4, 2024, at Albany Medical Center due to complications from a car accident. Born on May 24, 1947, in Brooklyn, New York, Burton was the beloved son of the late Irving and Sally Farbstein. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend whose love for his family and his community left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
At the age of 16, Burton met the love of his life, Corrinna (Brunson) Farbstein. Their deep connection blossomed into a beautiful 57-year marriage filled with love, laughter, and shared memories. Together, they raised three children—Brett Farbstein- wife Kristin, Bryce Farbstein -wife Melodie, and Briana McMorris - husband Matthew. Burton was immeasurably proud of his children and loved them with all his heart, cherishing each moment spent together.
Burton's love for his family expanded to his five beloved grandchildren—Esmé, Avery, Addison, Holden, and Indigo—who were his greatest pride and joy. He was a constant source of support, encouragement, and inspiration to them, always eager to celebrate their achievements and be a part of their lives. His love for them will forever be etched in their hearts.
Burton is also survived by his dear sister Arlene, his sister-in-law Joanne, brother-in-law Ronald Brunson and his wife Rose, their children Timothy, Steven and Katie Brunson and Krista Bodnar and their beautiful children, his nephew Mathew, as well as his nieces Mary, Adrienne, and Allison, each of whom held a special place in his heart.
Born in Brooklyn and a longtime resident of Queens, Burton made Mechanicville then Saratoga Springs his home, where he formed lasting connections with friends and neighbors. He retired from Norton Company as international purchasing agent. His second career was at The Mortgage Place as a reverse mortgage specialist.
Known fondly as "UBURT," he was always ready to lend a helping hand, whether it was running an errand, offering a ride, or just being there for someone in need. His generous spirit and willingness to help others were hallmarks of his character, and his love for his family was boundless.
We will always think of Burt when we hear a Billy Joel song, watch a Queen video or Fiddler on the Roof. His friends at Fresh Market and Market 32 will miss his daily visits. He loved negotiating a good deal and making his famous Ice Box Cake and Cioppino that would make Rachel Ray envious.
A memorial service will be held on December 6, 2024, at 1:00 PM at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866 (518-584-5373).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Wounded Warrior Project , Worldwide Kitchen , or the American Diabetes Foundation —causes that Burton cared deeply about.
Burton's legacy of love, kindness, and generosity will continue to inspire all who knew him. He will be forever missed but never forgotten.
