Saratoga Springs, NY – Carl DeMarco, a lifelong resident of Saratoga Springs, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, June 18, 2017.

Born on February 24, 1931, he was the son of the late Josephine (Martino) DeMarco and William M. DeMarco. Carl graduated from Saratoga Springs High School in 1949. He was a fine trumpeter and played in the high school band and orchestra. He also was a football player and an outstanding basketball player during his high school career.

On September 10, 1950, after a 3 year courtship, Carl married Lorraine Standish and they spent 67 wonderful years together. He worked for 32 years for the Delaware & Hudson Railroad and was a bus driver for the Saratoga Springs City School District. Later, Carl was employed for 6 years by the Adirondack Trust Co., where Lorraine had spent 32 years working. Together, they retired from the bank in 1989.

Carl's greatest pleasures came from wonderful family times. He loved spending holidays with everyone, vacationing, camping and all singing together in the car. He also enjoyed time with his grandchildren and great-grandson.

In addition to the love of his life Lorraine, survivors include his loving children Toni (David) Holbrook, Carl (Mary) DeMarco, Jr. and William (Claudia) DeMarco; his adoring grandchildren Jesse (Ali) von Glück, Teva Glueck and Alyssa DeMarco and one of Carl's brightest stars in his life (and Lorraine's), his great-grandson Max von Glück.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am Friday, June 23, at the historic Church of St. Peter, 241 Broadway by the Rev. John Kirwin and burial will follow in the family plot at St. Peter's Cemetery, West Ave.
