Carl Richard Hammond, Jr., of Saratoga Springs, passed away at Saratoga Hospital on Friday, June 25, 2010. He was 67. Born on April 13, 1943 in Saratoga Springs, he was a son of the late Carl Richard Hammond, Sr. and Mary Louise Ernst Hammond. "Dickie" as he was affectionately known, was a former groundskeeper at the McGregor Links Golf Course and also tended bar at several area establishments. He was a lifetime member of the ITAM and the Eagles Club. His favorite pastimes were gardening in his backyard and cooking. Dickie was an avid bowler and loved everything about horses. He was a New York sports fan and especially enjoyed watching the Mets and Giants play. Survivors include a daughter, Tracy Lynn Hammond of Barefoot Bay, FL, a son, Carl Richard Hammond III of Berwyn, PA, his sisters, Dr. Jeanne Hammond Manis and husband Mark of Scottsville, VA, Mollie Hammond Ingmire, of Cumming, Georgia, his fiance Barbara (Bobbie) Swartz and her sons Derek Swartz of Baltimore, MD and Gilbert Swartz of Albany, NY. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hammond is predeceased by a brother Robert Hammond. Relatives and friends may call from 5-7pm on Tuesday, June 29, 2010 and on Wednesday morning from 9-10am prior to the service at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, 584-5373. Funeral service will be conducted at 10am on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at the funeral home.
