Wilton, NY - Carol A. Closson, of Mahogany Ridge, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday (Dec. 25, 2010) at Saratoga Hospital. She was 59. Born on Oct. 22, 1951 in Pensacola, FL, she was a daughter of the late LeRoy and Ruby (Westover) Gabree. A licensed practical nurse, she had been employed at Glens Falls Hospital, Saratoga Hospital and for eight years worked for the Redemptorist Order at the St. John Neumann Residence on Lake Avenue. A true nurse and caregiver, she always put others before herself. She enjoyed any opportunity to spend time with her family, she enjoyed traveling to see her family, up to Virginia Beach and regularly visited her son Michael in Edmeston, NY. Carol enjoyed cooking, gardening, decorating her home and spoiling her grandchildren, always taking the kids side in any discussion. She also enjoyed playing Bunco with her lady friends in the neighborhood. Survivors include her husband and companion for over 20 years, Joseph D. Closson; her children, Rachelle and Keith Jackson of Silver Springs, MD, Alene and Luke Wheeler of Plainfield, VT and Michael Adams of Edmeston; her step-children, Joseph D. and Wanda Closson, Jr., of Ballston Spa, Jo-Anne and Dana Tartaglia of West Henrietta, NY and Diane Spicer of Newark, Del.; her brothers, James and Pat Gabree of Scotia, NY, Curt and Pat Gabree of Schenectady and Steve and Maureen Gabree of Gloversville and six grandchildren. Relatives and friends may call from 4 to 7pm Thursday at Our Lady's Chapel in the parish center of St. Clement's Roman Catholic Church, 231 Lake Avenue.
