Greenfield, NY – Carol A. LaMothe passed away on Friday, Jan. 20, 2017, after a long illness, while vacationing with her husband in Orlando, FL.

Born on March 30, 1949 in Niskayuna, NY, she was the daughter of the late Sigmund and Cecelia (Wisniewski) Ozarowski.  A 1967 graduate of Notre Dame High School, Carol later attended Waynesburg College in Pennsylvania, where she received her teaching degree. She taught at St. Lukes and Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons in Schenectady for 33 years.  She later owned and operated Montessori Country Academy Preschool in Greenfield until illness forced her to close in 2008.

Carol married Gary LaMothe on July 1, 1978 and moved to their farm in Greenfield. She loved her horses and various other farm animals. Together they opened an antique business and she loved to furnish and decorate their 1793 home with antiques.

Survivors include her husband Gary, who was her loving caregiver in her final years; two daughters, Sheri (James) Conerty of Ohio, Kari (Daniel) Smith of Georgia and eleven grandchildren she adored and loved to visit with. She is also survived by her brother, Joseph Ozarowski of Niskayuna; nephew Brent (Caitlin) Ozarowski of NYC; niece Katherine (Dave Mahoney) Ozarowski of Schenectady and many cousins.

Relatives and friends may call from 5 to 8pm Friday, January 27, 2017 at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs (584-5373). Burial will take place on the family farm in the spring.
