Saratoga Springs, NY - Carol Parmatier Leone passed away Friday (Jan. 11, 2019) at Mary's Haven, following a long battle with cancer, surrounded by family and friends. She was 70.
Born on Dec. 12, 1948 in Saratoga Springs, she was the daughter of the late Arthur J. and Mary (Kuon) Parmatier and was a lifelong resident. A 1966 graduate of Saratoga Springs High School, she enjoyed numerous hobbies, which included gardening and cooking. Carol was an avid Saratoga race track attendee and a diehard NY Yankees baseball fan. Her many years of employment included various venues in Saratoga Springs.
A member of the Ladies of Charity Saratoga Vicariate, she was a member and former secretary of Dominick-Smaldone Post 35 ITAM Ladies Auxiliary. A daily communicant of the Church of St. Peter, she volunteered in numerous positions. Carol faithfully served as a Eucharistic Minister, Mass and wedding coordinator, was a member of the parish bereavement group and currently serving on the pastoral council.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Michael "Mickey" Leone, Jr., who died April 11, 2010; her uncle Ed Kuon; an aunt, Kathryn LaTour and her father-in-law, Michael Leone, Sr.
Survivors include her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gary and Theresa Leone, who were her primary caregivers; her mother-in-law, Mildred Leone; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends. She is also survived by her close and special little friend, McKenna Rose Cook.
Relatives and friends may call from 4 to 7pm Tuesday (Jan. 15, 2019) at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing and Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway 518-584-5373.
Members of the Ladies of Charity will meet at 5pm Tuesday at the funeral home for their service. They are also requested to assemble inside St. Peter's Church at 9:45am Wed. to attend Carol's Mass together.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am Wednesday (Jan. 16) in the historic Church of St. Peter, 241 Broadway. Inurnment will be at 11:30am at the Gerald Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
The family would like to acknowledge the kindness shown by the staff at Saratoga Hospital's unit D-2 and everyone at Mary's Haven.
