Obituary
Saratoga Springs, NY – Carol S. Saunders, 63, of Bingham Street passed away Saturday, April 28th, 2018 at home with her family by her side.
Born December 19, 1954 in Saratoga Springs, she was the daughter of the late Walter N. Uline and Beverly J. Uline of Ballston Spa, N.Y.
She was employed for many years as Bookkeeper for The Grand Union Company in Ballston Spa until its closing. She joined the Hannaford Brothers in Saratoga Springs where she remained until her retirement. Carol received several customer service accolades over the years for her friendly, outgoing personality, and her dedication to helping others. Carol's biggest passion was spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed cheering for family in local sporting events, spending time with loved ones at camp, family gatherings, and time with her Grand-dogs. She was a league bowler in Saratoga Springs and an avid spectator at the Albany-Saratoga speedway.
Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her brother Michael Uline of Ballston Spa.
Survivors include her husband, Richard Saunders of this city; her children, Richard Saunders Jr. and Gary Saunders both of Ballston Spa, Darryl Saunders of Corinth. Siblings include her sisters Phyllis Bryant of Ballston Spa, Gladys Lashway of Hudson Falls; brothers Norman Uline of Ballston Spa and Carl Uline of Texas, 5 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 11am on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 in the family plot at Greenridge Cemetery, 17 Greenridge Place, Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial contributions in her name be made to the Relay for Life of Saratoga County where she spent almost 20 years raising funds in memory of loved ones and in more recent years while courageously fighting her own battle. Carol was the guest speaker for the 2015 Saratoga Springs opening ceremony. Donations should be mailed to 1 Penny Lane, Latham, N.Y. 12210.
