Carol Anne
Sinsigalli
Oct 2, 1947 — Sep 17, 2026
Halfmoon, NY
Halfmoon, NY - Carol Anne Sinsigalli passed away peacefully at home on September 17, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Affectionately known as Nanny to those who loved her, Carol lived fully, loved fiercely, and radiated a special energy that lit up every room. Her warmth, creativity, and infectious spirit touched countless lives, but her greatest joy was her family.
Carol was born on October 2, 1947, to the late Carmella Kookas, and raised in Madison, New Jersey. As the shining light in her mothers world, the two shared a bond that extended beyond mother and daughter, becoming the very best of friends. Carol carried that same special relationship into her own family, creating deep and lasting bonds with her children and grandchildren.
As a majorette in high school, Carol’s energy and spirit were on display from an early age. Her marching days eventually came to an end, but she continued to march her way into the hearts of everyone she met, starting with the heart of Gerald “Jerry” Sinsigalli.
Carol and Jerry, the love of her life, were married for nearly 58 years. Together, they built a home and family filled with warmth, love, laughter, and countless memories. Carol was a devoted mother who took great pride in making their home beautiful. Every season brought new decorations and thoughtful touches.
Her creativity extended far beyond decorating. Carol had a tremendous love and talent for sewing and knitting, creating beautiful blankets, bedspreads, clothing, and tote bags. She often took her creations on the road, attending craft fairs and sharing her work with others. Carol found beauty not only in the things she created, but in her travels all around the world, and she cherished every opportunity she and Jerry had to explore it. Her appreciation for baking, cooking, piano, photography, nature, and all things beautiful lives on in her family.
Then came golf.
Despite growing up with a lack of athletic opportunities afforded to her, Carol found an outlet later in life through golf. The game gave her a chance to showcase both her athleticism and competitive spirit, while also introducing her to friends she cherished. She loved the game, the friendships, and, of course, the competition. With four holes-in-one to her name, she earned a few bragging rights along the way and often celebrated her countless birdies with her “Birdie Juice.”
Carol was immensely proud of her children, Eric and Jessica, and their families. But nothing brought her greater joy than her grandchildren, Benjamin, Carlie, Luke, and Jade. Eternally their biggest fan, Nanny showed up to everything. She never wanted to miss a game, a performance, or a celebration. Her eyes lit up whenever she talked about her “grands,” and she made sure they never questioned how deeply they were loved.
Her family was her greatest accomplishment and the center of her world. She gave them her time, wisdom, laughter, creativity and, above all, her love. Carol will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, but the memories she created with them will continue to be cherished and warm the hearts of generations to come.
Carol is survived by her loving husband, Gerald; her children, Eric Sinsigalli (Jen) of Duxbury, Massachusetts, and Jessica Rzeszotarski (Rich) of Burnt Hills, New York; and her four beloved grandchildren, Benjamin, Carlie, Luke, and Jade. She also leaves her cousin Donna Carragino (Bob), her sister at heart and lifelong best friend. She was preceded in death by her mother, Carmella Kookas, and her beloved aunt and uncle, Geraldine and Paul DeSena.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday September 25th, 2026, from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM at William J. Burke & Sons Funeral Home in Saratoga Springs, NY.
