Malta, NY - Caroline B. Kottke ,a resident at The Home of the Good Shepherd, passed away Saturday, April 11, 2009 at Saratoga Hospital after a brief illness. She was 91. Born on July 19, 1917 in Schenectady, NY, she was the daughter of the late William and Minnie( Dress) Pelts . Caroline lived in Schenectady for 85 years. She was past president of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 1092 in Schenectady and was also active in Girls' State. Caroline will be remembered by her daughter Carol as a loving, humorous, generous, kind and gentle mother who loved nature and gardening and taught her children to do the same. All of those who attended Caroline's 90th birthday party are asked to remember her happy and smiling as she was on the day of her party. In addition to her parents, Caroline is predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Harold Kottke; her daughter, Patricia Kling and her son, George Kottke. Survivors include her daughter, Carol Seymour; grandsons, Curtis Kling and wife Lori and Kevin Kling and wife Cori; great- grandson Curtis Kling and various felines and canines. Relatives and friends may call from 9 to 10:30am , Monday, April 20, 2009 at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Spring (584-5373). Burial will follow at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Duell Rd., Schuylerville, where she will be laid to rest with her loving husband "Harry".
