Saratoga Springs, NY - Carrie Lynn Ortiz passed into our Makers hands at Saratoga Hospital, surrounded by her loving family, on Wednesday, December 29, 2010, following a very brave and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was 40. Carrie was born in Saratoga Springs on April 20, 1970. She graduated from the Schuylerville Central School and Adirondack Community College. A Registered Nurse, she worked at the Wesley Health Care Center for nine years and loved geriatric nursing. She then became a full time mom after the birth of two sons, Aubrey and Isaiah. Carrie also worked as a crossing guard at Division Street School and was a school nurse for the Saratoga Springs City School District and the Lansingburgh CSD. She was currently working as school nurse at Saratoga Central Catholic Jr. Sr. High School, a job she loved the most, always caring for others before herself. Survivors include her loving husband Angel and their two sons, Aubrey and Isaiah, all of Saratoga Springs; her mother, Karen (Mike) ORourke of Clifton Park; her father, Larry (Gail) Scott of Ellenton, FL and a stepdaughter, Cassie Ortiz; several pretty aunts, uncles, cousins and many loving friends. Relatives and friends may call from 2 to 4pm Sunday afternoon, January 2, 2011 at the Church of St. Peter, 241 Broadway, Saratoga Springs.
