Ballston Spa, NY - Catherine T. Cilione passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at Saratoga Hospital. She was 72. Born on Aug. 31, 1938 in Saratoga Springs, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Rosaria (Mangona) Capone and a graduate of Saratoga Springs High School. A member of the Church of St. Peter in Saratoga Springs, she was employed at the Saratoga Casino and Raceway and always enjoyed time with several of her fellow co-workers. She also enjoyed shopping and attending the events of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and had resided in the Saratoga Springs area most of her life. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, the late Joseph A. Cilione, who died in 2010 and a sister, Jeanette Desantis. Survivors include her five children: Joseph A. Cilione II and his wife April of Saratoga Springs, Lisa R. Kearney and her husband Nick of Ballston Spa, Dawn M. Catone of Saratoga Springs, James M. Cilione and his husband Joe of Ballston Spa and Frank G. Cilione of Saratoga Springs; five grandchildren, three great grandchildren and two brothers, Francis "Dicey" Capone and Donald Capone. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am Tuesday in the Church of St. Peter, 241 Broadway, Saratoga Springs, by the Rev. Matthew B. Wetsel, associate pastor. The Rite of Committal will follow at the family plot in St. Peter's Cemetery, West Ave. Family and friends are invited to gather at a reception to be held at the Principessa Elena Society home, 13 Oak Street, following interment.
