Obituary

Mechanicville - Mrs. Cecelia M. Coreno, 73, of Mechanicville, died Thursday July 12, at Maplewood Manor Nursing Home, Ballston Spa, surrounded by her loving family after a long and courageous battle with metastatic melanoma cancer. Cecelia was a lifelong resident of Mechanicville born on September 21, 1933. She was the daughter of the late Alfred and Cecelia Baker DeCelle, and one of thirteen siblings. Cecelia was the loving wife of 32 years to Guy M. Coreno who predeceased her on November 6, 1986. Cecelia was a graduate of Mechanicville High School Class of 1952. Her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were the focal point of her life. After raising her children she spent time working at Stewarts, Plank Rd Clifton Park and most recently at AC Moore, Latham. Cecelias passions were cooking, knitting, crocheting, and bingo. She also looked forward to her monthly DeCelle sister luncheons. Cecelia will always be remembered for her famous meatballs and lasagna which she prepared for all occasions. She was a loving and giving person. Survivors include her seven children and their spouses; Rose Ellen and Bob Gill of Troy, Maryann and Kevin Cranney of Queensbury, Patricia and Phillip Ayotte of Averill Park, Joseph and Michelle Coreno of Bayport, Cecelia Coreno and Joseph Lanzone of Mechanicville, and Francis Coreno and Michael Coreno of Mechanicville. Also surviving her are seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; Michael George, Julie, Genee, Ryan, Marisa, Garret, Joanna, C.J., and Kyle. Her ten surviving siblings include Mildred Schell, Patricia Palmer, William DeCelle, Beverly Gooley, Shirley Anuszewski, Madeline Clough, Elizabeth Neese, Carol Volpe, Frederick Butch DeCelle, and Gail Phillips. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Cecelia was predeceased by her brother, Alfred Robert DeCelle, her sister Mary Margaret Patregnani, her sister-in-law and brother-in-law Mary and Samuel Bosco. Cecelias family wishes to thank her doctors Dr. Steven Sgambati Jr., Dr. Michael E. Keefe, Dr. David M. Mastrianni, the staff at Saratoga Hospital, The Community Hospice of Saratoga, and the staff at Maplewood Manor of Ballston Spa. We would especially like to thank the Nurses and CNAs of the second floor. The support and dedication of these people made this difficult time a little easier for the family.
