Clifton Park, NY - Cecilia Bridget Borden entered eternal rest on November 3, 2024 at Saratoga Hospital. She was born in Dublin, Ireland on November 22, 1933 to the late Patrick and Anne (Lawton) Murray.

Her father owned several butcher shops in Dublin, and she fondly recalled her happy childhood on her family farm with her many brothers and sisters. Cecilia worked in London for several years before moving to the United States as a new bride. She and her husband, Harry J. Borden had four children. After Harry retired from the military in 1972, the family settled in Clifton Park, New York. Cecilia worked for many years at the former Cohoes Manufacturing Company as a clothing consultant. In her later years she worked in retail sales at JC Penney at both Crossgates Mall and Clifton Country Mall. She loved reading, sewing, discussing politics, and chatting on the phone with her many friends. She was a skilled baker that impressed everyone with her picture-perfect pie crusts. However, her children joked that her cooking skills did not reach the stove top. Cecilia loved to travel, returning to her childhood home in Ireland several times, as well as visiting her children and grandchildren in California and South Carolina. Her family and friends will always remember her witty Irish sayings, her impeccable sense of style, and her appreciation of the small things in life.

She is survived by her children, Daniel Borden, Michael (Allison) Borden, Sandra (John) DiCrosta, and Jacqueline (Brian) Motyl; 21 grandchildren, one great-grandson, as well as her brother, Gabriel (Pauline) Murray, and her sisters Bernadette, Dolores and Ursula.

A private burial will take place at the Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, N.Y. on November 22, 2024.
