Saratoga Springs, NY – Cecilia Monaco, 96, passed away Friday, January 9, 2026 at home. She was 96 years old. Born on January 26, 1929 in Saratoga Springs, NY, she was a daughter of the late Dominic and Mary Cardillo Arpey.

Cecilia married her beloved husband Jim in 1949 and they remained married for 72 years until his passing in 2021. Together they owned and operated Valley Acres Garden Center after the death of her parents, Dominic Arpey and Mary, who started the business in 1958.

Along with her husband and parents, Cecilia was predeceased by her father and mother-in-law Pasquale J. Monaco and Antoinette Spagnoli, and her sisters Anna and Christina.

She is survived by many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews.

A private burial will be held at St. Peter's Cemetery, West Ave., Saratoga Springs.
