Burnt Hills, NY - Charles J. Abdalla of VanVorst Road, passed away Wednesday (Apr. 22, 2009) at Ellis Hospital, Schenectady. He was 78. Born on April 8, 1931 in Saratoga Springs, he was a son of the late Charles and Mary Ann (Farone) Abdalla. A graduate of Saratoga Springs High School, he was a star pitcher for the schools baseball team and a resident of Saratoga Springs until 1986. He was a teacher and composer at Skidmore College, was a piano tuner in the area for several years. He was a former resident of Lighthouse Point, FL for 13 years where he taught private piano lessons and tennis. He and his wife moved to Burnt Hills in 1999. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his adopted daughter, Jo Marie Diacone. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Ann (Brown) Abdalla of Burnt Hills; many nieces and nephews including Carol Parillo of Schuylerville, Scott Donovan and Deirdre Donovan. There are no services scheduled.
