Mechanicville, NY - "Mr. B" Charles L. Barone joined our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Saturday, December 28, 2013 at his residence with his wife by his side. He was 67. He was born in Buffalo, NY and raised by his parents the late Charles and Dorothea Barone. He married Elizabeth "Betty" Barone on November 14, 1975 and they lived together in Buffalo, NY, before relocating to the capital district in 1986. Charles received his Associates of the Arts degree from Canisius College in 1990 and was a youth counselor until he retired in 2003 and was passionate about making a difference in the lives of the children he worked with. He was an active member of the Temple Baptist Church where he was ordained a Chaplin on April 21, 2013. He was deeply involved in the church community and in providing ministry and counseling in local prisons with the Hope Prison Ministries. Charles is survived by this wife Betty, children Bill Philibin (and wife Amy) of Buffalo, NY and Charles Barone of Newport, RI. He is also survived by three grandchildren: Adam, Nadia and Lydia along with many members of his church and ministries whom he considered a part of his family. A celebration of Charles's life will be at 7pm Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at Temple Baptist Church, 142 Lower Newton Road, Waterford. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Temple Baptist Church, 142 Lower Newtown Rd, Waterford, NY 12188.
