Lindberg
February 3, 1928 – January 15, 2017
Saratoga Springs, NY – Charles David Lindberg, 88, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday, January 15, 2017.
Charles was born in Canton, Ohio on February 3, 1928. He attended Mount Union College and graduated from Ohio State University with a degree in chemical engineering. Charles served in the Army during the Korean War. He then joined General Tire and Rubber Company, where he and his family had the opportunity to live in Venezuela and Akron, Ohio. The family moved to upstate New York (Niskayuna) in 1968 when his employment began with Mohasco. Charles retired as Director of Engineering from Chromcraft Furniture (a division of Mohasco). He was predeceased by his parents, Paul and Hulda Lindberg, and his three older brothers; Paul, Ed and Dale.
Charles is survived by his wife, Jane, to whom he was married for 65 years, and their four daughters; Becky Lazorchak of Malta, NY; Kathy Bozony of Porter Corners, NY; Ginny Lunde (Paul) of Porter Corners, NY; and Amy Bogaard (Joseph) of Vashon, WA. He also had the good fortune to know and love his six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Charles skied at Steamboat Springs and Gore Mountain until he was 80 years old. He shared his love of golf, body surfing and traveling with his family. Charles rebuilt old Karmann ghias and a VW bug, gifted us all with his woodworking and was creative in everything he did.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Pine West Plaza, Building 4 Suite 405, Washington Ave. Ext., Albany, NY 12205.
Our heartfelt thanks to those who cared for Charles during his final time with us.
