Saratoga Springs, NY - Claudia M. (Stevens) Didziulis,78, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 15, 2013 at Saratoga Hospital after a long illness. Born September 9, 1934 in Ballston Spa, NY, she was the daughter of the late Clifford and Gwendolyn (Painter) Stevens. Claudia was a graduate of Saratoga High School and Becker Junior College in Worcester, MA. In 1957 she married Vincent S. Didziulis in Amsterdam, NY. Claudia and Vince were happily married for over 52 years until his death in December 2009. Claudia was a lifetime resident of Saratoga and enjoyed her many years serving as the Assistant to the Athletic Director of the Saratoga Springs School District. Claudia is survived by her children, daughter Sandra Durkin and her husband Patrick of Queensbury, NY and son Dr. Stephen Didziulis and his wife Dr. Kristine Butcher of Thousand Oaks, CA.; her grandchildren, who were her greatest pride and joy, Matthew Durkin and his companion Ariel Nereson of Pittsburgh, PA, Katherine Durkin of Queensbury, NY, Claire Didziulis and Julia Didziulis both of Thousand Oaks, CA. Claudia is also survived by her brother Clifford Stevens and his wife Eleanor of Saratoga Springs along with other family members including nieces, nephews and cousins. Additionally, Claudia leaves behind many close and caring friends who were a great comfort to her. Relatives and friends may call from 9 to 10:30am Saturday, April 20, 2013 at The Church of St. Peter, 241 Broadway. A funeral service will follow at 10:30am at the church, celebrated by Rev. Dominic S. Ingemie, pastor. Burial will be in the family plot at St. Peter's Cemetery, West Ave. The family would like to thank the staff , the residents and their families at the Wesley Community, especially those on 3 Springs, for all of their caring and kindness.
