Saratoga Springs, NY - Constance deMuriel Jones, 95, of Saratoga Springs and NYC passed into the loving arms of the Lord on Saturday, June 23, 2012 following a long illness. Born on December 15, 1916 in New York City, NY, she was the beloved daughter of the late George and Rhoda DeHart. Constance was an executive medical secretary for the Downstate Medical Center when she retired. She held many positions in New York State government throughout her 40-year career. Her work and her family were her pride, joy, and purpose .Constance was an accomplished writer of poetry and received many national poetry awards and reviews. She was also a talented, self-taught seamstress, and found great pleasure in creating miniature doll clothes, particularly 16th and 17th century vintage. She also found enjoyment in reading mystery novels. Constance enjoyed family gatherings that were surrounded by family laughter and dance. She was loved by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, Constance is predeceased by her husband, John W. Jones; her son, Arnold J. Jones; a sister, Thelma Y. Ramsure and a brother, George Ellsworth DeHart. Survivors include her son, Richard A. Jones of Saratoga Springs, NY; two daughters, Marcia Jones Morton (Jasper) of Baltimore, MD and Judith Jones Daniel (Joseph) of Port St.Lucie, FL; one sister, Judith DeHart Ogburn (Edward) of New York City. She also leaves behind four grandchildren, Richard A. Jones, Jr., (Lynn) of NYC, Stephanie Daniel Walker(Keith) of Clifton Park, NY, Judith Daniel Hall (David) of Sarasota, FL and Veronica Daniel Wildermuth (Jeffrey) of Port St. Lucie, FL; seven great-grandchildren; one great- great grandchild and many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9am Saturday, June 30, 2012 at the Church of St. Peter, 241 Broadway, by the Rev. Matthew B. Wetsel, associate pastor.
