Lake Desolation, NY- Daniel Joseph Gailor Jr. passed away peacefully on December 19, 2018 surrounded by his wife and three daughters. He was 56. Daniel was born in Ballston Spa, NY on September 19, 1962 to his parents Daniel and Mae Gailor Sr. He worked for the Saratoga Springs City School District for 34 years, ending his career at Greenfield Elementary School. Upon retirement, Dan began working part time for the City of Saratoga Springs, Department of Public Safety. Dan was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, four-wheeling and snowmobiling, and anything else that he could do outside. He loved being able to teach his daughters how to shoot, fish and ride four-wheelers and going on long four-wheeler and motorcycle rides with his wife. He loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. Dan is predeceased by his father, Daniel Gailor Sr. and his beloved furry girl Tinkerbell. He is survived by his mother Mae Gailor, his wife of 36 years, Mary Gailor (Conkelton); three daughter, Danielle (Shawn) Willard, Courtnianne Gailor, Brittany (Tom) Clark; three grandchildren, Matthew, Kaitlyn and Joseph; two brothers, Dennis (Cheri), Charlie (Gina); his fury girls Snowball and Gracie, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Relatives and friends may call from 4pm to 7pm on Thursday December 27 at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Home, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs, (518) 584-5374. A funeral service will take place at 10am, on December 28that the funeral home, followed by a celebration of Dan's life at the Maple Avenue Fire House. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Upstate New York Autism Alliance at 379 Bay Road, Queensbury, N.Y. 12804 or the Cancer Research Institute at www.cancerresearch.org .
