Saratoga Springs, NY - On March 7, 2020 we lost a man known for his laughter, kind words, and ability to make friends with anyone, anywhere. Daniel Comerford Robbins, 61, passed away at his home in Saratoga Springs. He was born in Memorial Hospital, Albany, NY, on May 31, 1958.

Dan's parents moved the family to Saratoga Springs in 1966 where he attended St. Peter's Academy. He played in all the sports leagues available to a boy growing up in the 1960's and 70's including biddy basketball, minor league and little league baseball and Pop Warner football. He lettered in Varsity football at St. Peter's High School where he graduated in 1976. Dan attended both Northeastern University and Skidmore College.

He went on to work in banking and credit recovery in Boston, MA, Greenwich, CT and Greensboro, NC. Most recently, Dan had been employed for the past 11 years at Minogue's Beverage Center where he made new friends every day. He was never at a loss for an interesting fact; whether the topic be literature or disc golf, current events or history, Dan Robbins could always develop a conversation, and find a way to connect.

Predeceased by his parents, the late Frank Townsend Robbins and Janet Baker Robbins; Dan is survived by his son, Maxwell Baker Robbins, brother, Thomas Carl Robbins, sister, Ann Leland (Nancy) Robbins Winn, brother-in-law Joseph Winn, niece Kathryn Townsend Winn, nephew Michael T. Robbins (Lauren) and great nephew Vincent Michael Robbins. He is also survived by Maxwell's mother, Maria Frederick (John) and many others who loved him, from his friends and colleagues at Minogue's to his disc golf pals, and a west side neighborhood full of people who were touched by his smile and kindness.

The echoes of his laughter and the light of his smile will live on in the memories of those fortunate enough to have known him.
