Obituary

Saratoga Springs - David S. Brumley,73, passed away on July 12, 2017 at his beloved camp in the Adirondacks.

Dave was born in Amsterdam, New York on June 26, 1944.  He was the son of the late Richard and Beatrice (Weiher) Brumley.  He attended Amsterdam Schools. On June 6,1965 he married Clementine Centi and in 1973 the family moved to Saratoga Springs, NY.

In earlier years Dave was very active in all the children's activities.  He was Vice President of Saratoga National Little League.  He was involved with Cub Scouts & Indian Guides.  He was also very active in Saratoga Jaycees and in 1975 was made Jaycee of the Year.  He was a member of Principessa Elena Men's Society where he served as Treasurer and was also a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles.

He was employed by General Electric for 37 years working at the Main Plant in Schenectady, West Milton and Niskayuna.  He retired from Lockheed Martin in 2002 as a Contract Administrator.

Dave enjoyed camping, fishing and sitting around his campfire with his late-night buddies and his 54oz mug at Glen Hudson Campsite in Thurman, New York. He loved being around his children and especially his grandchildren Holland and Aria who called him Copa and Nicholas and Sarah who called him Papa.

There was nothing Dave couldn't do, he was a jack of all trades. He was kind and compassionate and always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. He took great pride in making people smile during the holiday season and was known as a local legend for his amazing outdoor displays in the Geyser Crest Area.

Dave was a communicate of St. Mary's Church in Ballston Spa, NY and St. Cecilia's in Warrensburg, NY.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Clem; his four sons David R. of West Milton, Scott D. of Glens Falls, Paul D. (Heather) of Greenfield and Brian D of Saratoga; his brother Dick (Ann) of Slingerlands; four grandchildren Holland (15), Aria (10), Nicholas (7) and Sarah (5); sister-in-law Terri Centi of Amsterdam and Dorothy Centri of Albany; many nieces, nephews and cousins and dear friends Jean Chenier, Steve and Ronnie Frazier, Bob Novak and Jeanne Wilson, along with many camp friends. In addition to his parents he was pre-deceased by his sister Linda Cedeno.

You may pay your respects at William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff, Inc. Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY on Tuesday July 18th from 4-7 pm.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Mary's Church in Ballston Spa, NY on Wednesday July 19th at 9:30 am.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Cecilia's Church, 3802 Main Street, Warrensburg, NY.
