Saratoga Springs, NY - David Donald Hollar, most recently a resident of Wesley Health Care Center, died early Saturday morning, March 10, 2012. He was 88 years old. Mr. Hollar was born in Muskegon, Michigan. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II in the Pacific, and worked as a draftsman at a number of engineering firms in Muskegon and Grandville, Michigan. He was a skilled woodworker and sang baritone in two Barbershop quartets in Muskegon. Married to Evonne Marie OLeary from 1949 until her death in 1989, he was also predeceased by his daughter, Laurie Hollar Schmidt (1950 2005). Survivors include his youngest daughter, Candace Hollar Wait (Charles Wait) and three grandchildren, Charles Valentine Wait Jr., Christopher David Wait, and Alexandra Dallas Wait. There will be no public calling hours and burial will be at the convenience of the family.
