Obituary

Saratoga Springs, NY- David Joseph Mc Allister, 83, of Saratoga Springs, NY, passed away on June 8, 2024 surrounded by his family. He was born on February 26, 1941 in Passaic, NJ.

Dave was a dedicated family man, known for his sense of humor and love of horse racing. David was raised in Ridgewood, NJ alongside his two brothers Jim and Jack.  He graduated from Ridgewood High School in 1958. Dave went onto a very successful career spanning over 40 years on Wall Street as a Sales Trader, working at Lehman Brothers, AG Becker, and most recently Merrill Lynch. Dave always carried himself with a classy demeanor and a dignified style.

In his free time, David enjoyed following the NY Yankees and indulging in his love for thick milkshakes. His passion for horse racing brought him much joy over the years and led him to Saratoga Springs for retirement.  Dave made it his priority to always spend time with his family and keep his grandkids laughing.

David served in the Army Reserve, demonstrating his commitment to his country and fellow service members.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Linda Mc Allister, his children Deborah (Mc Allister) and Mark O'Donovan, David and Darleen Mc Allister and Tracey (Mc Allister) and Darren Starr.  David was lovingly known as Pop Pop to nine grandchildren; Ryan Mc Allister, Emily O'Donovan, William O'Donovan, Katherine O'Donovan, Joseph Starr, Cameron Mc Allister, David Mc Allister, Riley Starr, and Christian Starr. David is also survived by his brothers Jim and Jack Mc Allister along with many loving nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Emily Mc Allister.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.  Arrangements are under the direction of the William J. Burke & Sons/ Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Home, 628 N. Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.

David was a family man, a Wall Street veteran with a witty sense of humor, Davey Mac will be deeply missed and his memory cherished forever by all who knew him. He was loved beyond words, a husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many. Dave ended everyday with the words "I am very blessed."
